When the landscape becomes part of the story

Lake Maggiore draws its emotion from its sheer breadth. Light moves across the water and the eye travels far, giving the wedding a bright, naturally elegant atmosphere.

Arriving by boat brings the couple straight into the scene. On shore the pace slows among gardens and historic houses, where the day shifts perspective without losing its spontaneity.

I photograph in keeping with the character of the place. I alternate airy wide views with intimate gestures, so that the scale of the setting never draws attention away from what is really happening between people.
