The Sacro Monte di Varallo is one of the most striking places in Valsesia: a complex of frescoed fifteenth-century chapels, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, overlooking the rooftops of the old village. For a wedding, it's a choice that brings history and landscape together in a single setting, with no need for extra staging.

The ceremony is typically held in one of the churches in Varallo's historic centre, followed by a climb up to the Sacro Monte for couple portraits: the cloisters, the stone porticoes and the basilica steps offer different views at every turn, with the valley opening up behind the newlyweds.

The reception often continues at a venue near the historic centre, with a view over the village rooftops: the evening light, between toasts and the cake cut in the garden, closes the day with the same quiet it began with.
