Soriso, in the Novara hills
First the vines, then the woods, then the hall
The afternoon went by among the hillside vineyards and along a path in the woods, with the whole group behind the couple: group photos here are taken walking.
Inside, the hall with its wooden ceiling and long tables: the party starts early, and I stay in the middle of the people, where things happen.
A wedding on the spring-fed lake, in the Novara hills
The Laghetto della Gelata is in Soriso, in the hills between Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore, a few minutes from both. It is a restaurant built around a small lake fed by an underground spring, the same one that feeds the fountain of the nearby sanctuary of the Madonna della Gelata; the ground is that of the ancient supervolcano overlooking the Valsesia.
The wedding reception takes place in the hall and in the greenery around it, with the hillside vineyards within walking distance: an intimate place, where the day does not change setting but changes light.
With the hills all around I work on the transitions: the group on the move, the road between the vines, the shade of the woods that then gives way to the full light of the hall.
