Wedding venues at altitude, in Valle Antrona
Wedding at Agriturismo Alberobello, Borgomezzavalle
Viganella, Borgomezzavalle (VB), among the mountains of Val d'Ossola
The rock-carved pool, heart of the celebration
This is not your classic resort pool: it's a natural basin carved into the mountain stone, its water mirroring the peaks around it.
The family dog, often as much a protagonist as the newlyweds, dives in alongside the guests: a detail that says a lot about the informal spirit of this kind of wedding.
A high-altitude wedding, among chalets and a natural pool
In the heart of Valle Antrona, in Viganella, the Agriturismo Alberobello tells the story of a wedding unlike any other: six stone-and-timber chalets built in the alpine tradition, a restaurant serving zero-kilometre mountain cooking, and a natural pool carved into the rock with a view over the valley. The venue can be booked exclusively, for anywhere from 25 to 200 guests.
The civil ceremony is held outdoors, among the stone houses of the small hamlet, often with a family dog as a very special witness. The reception continues on the terrace, at tables laid with wildflowers, with a view opening onto the surrounding peaks.
The most eagerly awaited moment comes in the afternoon, when guests dive into the natural pool while the newlyweds stay poolside to watch: a detail that captures the playful, informal spirit of this kind of celebration. The evening closes with the cake cut on the terrace, as the light fades over the mountains.
