Wedding venues among the hills of Monferrato
Wedding in Monferrato
Casale Monferrato, among vineyards and UNESCO World Heritage hills
The hills of Monferrato as a natural backdrop
Rows of vines stretching as far as the eye can see, brick farmhouses and the warm afternoon light: Monferrato carries an atmosphere you can feel before you even start photographing.
Here the wedding moves between indoors and outdoors, between the hall and the garden with its pool, letting the hillside landscape act as a backdrop to every moment of the celebration.
A wedding among the hills of the Marchesato
Casale Monferrato was for centuries the capital of the Marquisate of Monferrato: a stronghold of the Paleologo marquises from 1319, it later passed to the Gonzaga of Mantua when Federico III married Margherita, the last descendant of the Paleologi. A wedding here is celebrated in the shadow of the Duomo di Sant'Evasio, consecrated in the early twelfth century over an even older church and today among the best-preserved Romanesque cathedrals in Piedmont.
Around the city stretches the wine-growing landscape of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2014: rows of Barbera and Grignolino, stone villages and castles along the ridgelines. The light here differs from the plains, warmer in the late afternoon, and suits both the procession through the old town's streets and portraits in the countryside just outside the city.
Here too my job stays the same: following the day without steering it, to bring home the light of the hills and the genuine gestures of the newlyweds, without staged poses or forced timing.
